What it is

Developed specifically for the 2015–2021 Subaru WRX VA with the FA20DIT turbocharged engine, the Roccomotive Performance Intake System combines a fully enclosed PC-CF airbox with an innovative dual cold-air intake design.

Featuring dedicated upper and lower fresh-air feeds, the system is designed to supply ambient air to the enclosed airbox while helping isolate the intake filter from hot engine bay air.

Manufactured from carbon fibre reinforced polycarbonate (PC-CF), the main airbox and structural intake components provide excellent temperature resistance, rigidity and durability in demanding engine bay conditions.

A genuine K&N high-flow air filter is included, visible through the clear polycarbonate inspection cover. Purpose-designed TPU components provide flexible sealing, vibration isolation and fitment for the lower intake duct.

The system retains the factory mass airflow (MAF) sensor and utilises OEM mounting points, providing a complete bolt-in installation without cutting or permanent modifications.

Designed using 3D scanning and CAD, and manufactured in Australia by Roccomotive.

Every Roccomotive product starts as a 3D scan of the actual engine bay, is designed over that mesh by a mechanical engineer, and is printed here in the material chosen for its job. Metal parts — like the GR Corolla’s cooling panel — are laser cut and powder coated.

Does this intake fit the Subaru WRX STI?
This system has been developed specifically for the VA Subaru WRX equipped with the FA20DIT engine. It is not listed as compatible with the WRX STI.
Does the intake use the factory airflow sensor?
Yes. The system is designed to retain the original Subaru mass airflow (MAF) sensor.
Does the intake require tuning?
Although the system retains the factory MAF sensor, aftermarket intake changes can affect airflow readings and engine calibration. A suitable ECU calibration may be required. We recommend consulting a qualified Subaru tuner before installation.
What is the advantage of the dual intake design?
The dual intake design incorporates upper and lower fresh-air feeds, providing two dedicated pathways for ambient air to reach the enclosed airbox.
Why use a fully enclosed airbox?
An enclosed airbox helps isolate the air filter from hot engine bay air while directing incoming air through the dedicated intake ducts.
What is the intake manufactured from?
The main structural components are manufactured from carbon fibre reinforced polycarbonate (PC-CF). Flexible TPU is used for the lower intake duct, sealing gaskets and mounting bushes.
Is the installation completely bolt-in?
Yes. The system uses factory mounting locations and retains the OEM airflow sensor, requiring no cutting or permanent modification to the vehicle.
Is the air filter included?
Yes. A high-flow air filter is supplied with the kit.
Is the system manufactured in Australia?
