CAD design & modelling · Brisbane

Designed around the geometrywe captured, not a drawing of it.

Functional engineering CAD: parts that clear the strut tower, bolt to what's already there and can actually be manufactured. Built over scan data of the real car, by a mechanical engineer.

How it works

What happens, in order.

  1. 01

    Brief and constraints

What the part does, what it connects to, what it must clear, and how it'll be made.

  2. 02

    Scan or measure

Most jobs start with a scan of the area. Simple parts can be measured.

  3. 03

    Model and check

The part is modelled against the mesh, with clearances and hardware checked in the assembly.

  4. 04

    Prototype, then revise

A printed test fit confirms the design. Revisions are usually refinements.

Is this the right job for us?

Good fit, and what we’ll point elsewhere.

Good fit

  • Intake systems, airboxes, ducting and brackets for modified cars
  • Recreating an unavailable part — see reverse engineering
  • Interface parts that join two existing products
  • Tooling, jigs and fixtures for a workshop process
  • Businesses with an idea that needs engineering CAD to become a part
  • Metal printing, for parts that need to be metal

Not what we’re for

  • Open-ended styling and body-kit design — subjective, revision-heavy work we don't position for
  • Rendering-only jobs with no part at the end

Questions

Asked before you ask.

Can I get just the CAD and manufacture it elsewhere?
Yes. We'll agree file formats and what's included at the start. Plenty of customers take a STEP file to their own machinist or fabricator.
Do you need the car?
For anything that has to fit a bay, we need to scan it — in Brendale or mobile across Greater Brisbane. For a standalone part, the part itself is enough.
Who owns the design?
It depends on the project and is agreed per job before design starts. For workshop products we often retain the design and supply the manufactured part; for a commissioned one-off the terms can differ. We'll put it in writing.
What software do you use?
Industry-standard parametric CAD. What matters to you is the output — we export to the formats your manufacturer or printer needs.
