Scan to finished part —together or one at a time.

Everything between an idea and a part that bolts on: 3D scanning, CAD, printing, reverse engineering, prototyping and product development. Run by a mechanical engineer, in a workshop where all of it is within reach of the same bench.

How it's made

How a part gets made, and where you can join in

Use us for a single stage or the whole run. Most Roccomotive products started as somebody's problem that needed all of it.

  1. 01

    Scan

We capture the actual engine bay or component with a handheld scanner — in the workshop, or mobile around Greater Brisbane. What comes back is the car as it sits, modifications and all.

  2. 02

    CAD

The part is designed around the geometry we captured, not around a drawing of what should have been there. That's the difference between a part that clears the strut tower and one that nearly does.

  3. 03

    Prototype

A physical part comes off the printer for fitment and function checks. Additive manufacturing means the first one exists in days, not months of tooling.

  4. 04

    Test fit

It goes on the car. Accurate scanning usually means the first fit is good, so revisions tend to be improvements rather than corrections.

  5. 05

    Manufacture

The approved version goes into production — printed in polymer or metal, or laser cut and powder coated where the part needs it — then assembled and checked in Brendale.

Next step

Bring us the car, or bring us the problem.

Shop the parts we've already engineered, or start a conversation about the one that doesn't exist yet. Either way you'll be talking to the person doing the work.
