The bay, a bracket, a panel, a part that no longer exists. Photos help us quote and plan the session.

We scan it
Handheld scanner, in the workshop or on site, with the relevant area exposed.

Mesh, clean-up, alignment
Raw scan becomes a usable mesh, oriented and trimmed to what matters.

Hand-off or carry on
Take the data for your own CAD, or move straight into design with us.

Questions

Asked before you ask.

Can you scan the car at my place?

Yes. Mobile scanning covers Greater Brisbane. We need the vehicle accessible with the relevant area exposed — bonnet up, covers off — and reasonable light. If the car can come to Brendale, that's usually quicker.

What do I get at the end?

A cleaned, aligned mesh of the area or part. If you're taking it to your own designer we'll agree a format up front. If we're doing the CAD, the scan simply feeds straight into the design.

Does the engine need to come out?

Almost never for intake and airbox work. We scan the bay as it sits. For a component on its own, we scan the part itself — you can post it to us if it's not local.

How accurate is it?

Accurate enough that parts designed from our scans usually fit first time, with revisions being improvements rather than corrections. We don't publish a headline tolerance figure because it depends on the surface and the setup — ask us about your specific job.
