Suspension bushes

The rubber that's flexingunder everything else you've fitted.

Worn or soft bushes let the suspension move where it shouldn't, and no amount of coilover adjustment fixes that. SuperPro polyurethane bushes and sway bar bushes, supplied to order and fitted here.

Worth knowing

The short version.

Why polyurethane

Factory rubber bushes are tuned for quiet and comfort, and they flex — more as they age. Polyurethane locates the arm or bar more precisely so steering and sway-bar inputs arrive at the wheel instead of into the bush. It's a bigger part of how a car feels than most people expect, and it's the background Marcello brings from years of suspension product development.

Sway bar bushes specifically

The bushes that locate the sway bar on the body are the cheapest suspension upgrade that changes something you can feel. Often fitted with a new bar; sometimes the whole fix for a bar that's gone dull.

Questions

Asked before you ask.

Will polyurethane bushes make noise?
Properly fitted and lubricated SuperPro bushes shouldn't. Squeaks usually mean a dry or wrongly installed bush — which is why we'd rather fit them.
Do I replace all of them?
Not necessarily. Control-arm and sway-bar bushes usually matter most. We'll look at what's worn and what you're trying to achieve.
Are they harsher than rubber?
Slightly firmer in feel; the ride itself is mostly unchanged. Most owners notice the sharper response, not the firmness.
